Today Kadey turns 5!

I can't believe that Kadey is 5 today. I swear just yesterday she was a little tiny ( well never really tiny) baby. Makes me feel so old!
I was looking through some old pictures today and thought that I would share some on here. I remember when Kadey looked the way she does in these pictures. Where does the time go?

Crazy Times

Since my last post I started my CNA class that I have to take to get into the nursing program. It is three nghts a week from 4-8pm plus I have still had a morning class at 8:30am five days a week! Yikes! Plus trying to keep the house up, taking care of the girls and trying to study. So needless to say I haven't had a lot of time to do much of anything let alone blog. :-)

This sunday I start my clinicals, so I'm excited and also a little scared. This should be interesting. Clinicals are at a nursing home in Walla Walla. Some of the students in my class started their clinicals last week. And from what I heard from them it is going to be an experience I won't soon forget.

The girls are both doing really well. We were lucky and nobody in our house has been sick since we got over the nasty stuff that we got up in Whistler. Kadey is just growing up so fast. Sometimes I swear she is older then 4 1/2. Some of the things she says just doesn't sound like a 5 year old. And Addy is adding new words to her vocabulary all the time. Sometimes I feel like I am running around in circles. But I don't think I would change a thing if given the choice.

Such a big girl!

A couple days ago my Dad and Alrene told me that Addy had been peeing on the toilet for them every time they put her on. So I decided that I would put her on the toilet and see for myself (not expecting her to do anything). To my surprise after only seconds of sitting on the potty what do I hear but tinkle tinkle tinkle. I was so excited but thought that it was probably just a coincidence. So about a hour later I decided to place her back on the potty and see if she would go again. This time she did the same thing except after she was finished and I told her what a big girl she was, just like her big sissy she started to laugh hysterically. You can just tell how excited she is. I've put her on the toilet about 10 times since Sunday afternoon and she has gone potty every single time! We thought that Kadey was amazing when she completely potty trained herself in 3 days at the age of 2 ( Addy is almost 15 months) but this is even crazier! I am sure part of the difference is that Addy gets to watch her big sissy being a "big girl" every single day. Thank you Kadey! It would be wonderful if she was potty trained by the age of two. I'm crossing my fingers!!

A Winter Wonderland

We just got home from our yearly treck up to Whistler B.C. and I can't tell you happy I am to be home. This years trip was a crazy one. First of all on the way up we had to go through Portland which added a couple hours onto the trip. Somewhere in Washington there was about a 30 mile stretch where we saw at least 20 cars off the road because it was snowing. We finally caught up to the rest of teh family right before we hit the Canadian boarder and carpooled the rest of the way up to Whistler.

Andrew & I got in two days of great skiing and one nite of some wild tubing thanks to Eric, Becca and Jared. We took Kadey out skiing 3 times and she LOVED it! She got to ski w/ her cousin Jake who is just flying down the mountain on skis now. I can't believe the difference a year makes. She is turning into a great little skiier. By the end of the trip she was even skiing w/out using the edgie wedgies! Give her a year or two and she will be skiing circles around me :-) She can't wait to go skiing again really soon!

It was great getting to see all the cousins, Aunts, Uncles and grandparents up there. Kadey & Addy had so much time playing w/ their cousins. I afternoon Hunter & I played w/ the learning clock. He loved teaching Aunt Steph to tell time. The one thing that I do regret is not taking very many pictures! What was I thinking!?!?!?! Andrew, Ron and I decided to take a ride on the Peak 2 Peak gondola in the car w/ the glass bottom. It was amazing but I'm not sure you will get me on there ever again. It might have been the scariest 11 minutes of my life.

Coming home was an experience I will never forget. It rained from Whilster all the way to Vancouver Washington. We saw lots of houses where there was standing water in the yards creeping up to the front doors. We were lucky that we left early enough that we didn't get stuck somewhere because they closed the roads. The pass was closed so we went thru Portland once again tagging another couple hours onto our already LONG LONG LONG drive home. The girls were awesome even after 14 hours in the car( and they both woke up sick that morning YUCK). Each had her own movie on and all the snacks and drinks they could ask for. By the time we pulled into our driveway at 10pm we were all happy to be home.

All in all it was another memorable Whilster trip. Thank you to everyone who helped make it that way! We love you.

All we could ask for

Christmas this year was great. There weren't a lot of presents under the tree ( we decided that w/ me in school and not working it would be better that way) but it was ok because the gifts are not what makes Christmas special.
Christmas Eve we put out the cookies and milk out for Santa. Everyone was in bed by 8:30pm (I bet Kadey was asleep not 5 minutes after her head hit her pillow.) Not sure what time Santa showed up but we know he did because the cookies and milk were gone and presents were left in their place.

On Christmas morning the girls were up and ready to go by 6:30am. Kadey tore through all the presents in no time ( even Addy's, she wasn't really into the opening as much as playing w/ her toys). Papa and Grammy (Ron&Gretchen) came over to bring the girls their presents and eat breakfast w/ us. I'm pretty sure that Kadey's favorite present is the HUGE doll house that Papa and Grammy got her. She plays w/ it for hours at a time. As for Addy, she likes whatever Kadey likes (she follows her around everywhere!)

After breakfast we got ready for Christmas at Papa and Nana'a house (Steve&Arlene) w/ great grandma. The girls had some more presents to open and great food to eat.

I hope that everyone had a memorable and merry Christmas!

Family pix

Here are the newest pictures of our family. Thank goodness my friend Lora is patient enough to take our pictures. :-) Addy got a fat lip the night before we took the pictures and then wouldn't stop sticking her tongue out. So that is why she has the rash on her chin. Why does that always have to happen right before pictures?

I think that this one is my favorite. Even tho Addy has her tongue out again.

Girls Being Girls

Since we are stuck at home w/ nothing to do I decided to take a video of the girls dancing and singing to their favorite song. Kadey dressed herself and Addy in the dresses Andrew and I brought them back from Hawaii. If you listen you can hear Addy singing oooh ooooh oooh (she is trying to sing that part in the song). I hope you enjoy my little weirdos.
